Paul Morgan is a highly experienced maritime engineering professional of 40+ years, technical consultant, and industry author with more than two decades of global experience in ship operations, fleet management, and marine engineering. A former Chief Engineer, he has sailed on a wide range of vessel types including tankers, gas carriers, cruise vessels, ferries, offshore support vessels, and bulk carriers, giving him a broad operational perspective across the shipping industry.

Throughout his career Paul has held senior technical leadership roles with major ship management organisations from technical superintendent Fleet Manager and General Manager management of large and complex fleets,

His work has in project management as Project Manager and Project Director involved the overseeing dry-dockings, vessel conversions, newbuild projects, and major technical upgrades across international fleets. He has been responsible for budgets, regulatory compliance, and operational performance while working directly with shipowners, shipyards, and classification societies.

Paul is widely recognised for his expertise in energy efficiency, fuel optimisation, and emerging maritime fuel technologies. He led programmes focused on fuel and energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and still very involved in the evaluation of new and evolving technologies.

In addition to his technical management career, Paul is an established maritime writer and technical commentator. As a former editor and major contributor to Marine Propulsion & Auxiliary Machinery magazine and other industry publications, he has authored numerous feature articles, technical papers, and industry analyses covering marine engineering, alternative fuels, and shipping technology.

Today he operates as an independent technical consultant advising shipowners, maritime organisations, and technology companies on vessel operations, engineering projects, fuel technologies, and industry communications.
